Who are We?
Our journey started 20 years ago, in Grand Forks/East Grand Forks meeting and falling in love. Seven short years later having our first kiddo Embri and Olive to follow five years after that time, we traveled to the West Coast for Chef Paul to attend culinary school in Portland, OR and then to Spokane, WA for a few years after that. After over 14 years on the west coast, we decided to move back to our roots.
We have now been proud residents of Moorhead, MN for about four years. In these almost 20 years, Chef Paul has worked in many restaurants from Red Star and Pastaworks in Portland, OR to Twigs in Spokane, WA and Rosewild, 701 Eateries and Benedict's locally. Over a decade ago, he had come to the conclusion that he had a dream to be his own boss and make his dreams come true on his own terms one day. And finally after creating and cooking in restaurants owned by others for so many years, missing valuable years with his family, and after over a couple dozen of restaurants/butcheries, we decided to take the plunge and go for it!
The name for the food truck was discussed with our children for a bit. Because this is a local family owned and operated food truck, with our two children in tow, the name needed to represent all of us and our playful and goofy sides to our family. We really wanted something to represent the wonder and excitement some childhood memories hold. To invoke that child-like, whimsy and carefree feeling, we landed on Duck Duck Goose Food Co. as a slight nod to moving back to the area and to channel those feelings of fun and excitement, where our food can bring about a dance of flavors, textures and new adventure that many has never gotten to experience before.
We are so excited to share our food with you!
